	Congratulations to Lonnie Whitten for being chosen as the 2012 VFW Officer of the year. Lonnie is a full time officer at the Russell Police Department and also a part time officer at the Sheriff’s Office.


	Upcoming Events for the Sheriff’s Office

March 10 - PTO school carnival at Russell High School from 4 pm to 7 pm

March 27 - Stormspotters meeting 6:30 to 9:00

April 2 through April 6 - The Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a Basic Swat School for Law
Enforcement Officers

July 24 through July 28 - Russell County Free Fair
